Life is the best gift…

 Life is the best gift, the rest is extra – a Tanzanian proverb.  In the wake of the recent tragedy in Newtown, which is only 20 minutes away from me, I’m not sure what I ought to write.  I’d spent all of last week in the NYC/NJ area and upon returning, experienced what a blessing we can all be to each other.  All the funerals homes in my town and the surrounding towns have volunteered their services and as you can imagine, there has been many a procession.  It is sad, I can’t even begin to process it.  I was going to title this post, In the arms of luxury, or something silly but I find the proverb to be very fitting.  I am grateful for the luxury of life,  basic amenities, mental and physical faculties and the ability to be happy.  I am grateful for the luxury of being a blessing to others and being available and a vessel for good.

La vida es el mejor regalo, el resto es extra – un proverbio Tanzania.  Había un tragedia en un pueblito de Newtown, esta 20 minutos afuera de mi pueblito.  No estoy segura de lo que debo escribir.  La realidad es que esta situación es muy triste.  Por mi parte, estoy muy agradecida por el lujo de la vida,derechas humana, las facultades mentales y físicas y la capacidad de ser feliz. Estoy muy agradecido por el lujo de ser una bendición para otros.
