My Natural Hair Essentials
I’ve been receiving all these questions regarding my hair. I won’t harp on the topic because there is an overload of information for natural haired girls. First things first, what you see most of the time on the blog is my version of protective styling a.k.a a wig. One of my best friends introduced me to the world of wig wearing and I’ve been exploring ever since. You see I’m an accidental natural and the laziest when it comes to my hair. If you look back at my blog posts you will rarely see my hair out. My regime is quite simple but it wasn’t always like this. When I first started learning how to take care of my natural hair (after breaking a few combs sadly), I’d buy every other product I read about and ended up naturally with loads of product.
These days my hair gets washed every two weeks or weekly depending on the level of ambition felt. The one product that I use consistently is this castor oil I bought in Jamaica at the local pharmacy. I will say that this low maintenance method has really worked for me, my hair has indeed grown. I found a picture of my mom when she was my age, wearing one awesome afro and when I asked her what products she used then she said, “coconut oil and water, that is all.” A testament that less truly can be more. With that said, here are some of my favorite products. What are some of yours?
