Below Zero…

Part of my detoxing plan earlier this month also included removal of toxic people in my life. {Let’s just get into it shall we?}  You know the ones I mean – those that take you for granted, treat you horribly and expect you to hang about.  In addition, I just grew tired of a) being an emotional dustbin b) being too available only to taken advantage of  c) having no value whatsoever added to my life.  Sure it was sad to say goodbye to some friendships\relationships but these people are not welcome in this new chapter of life that I am about to experience.  I want to be surrounded by people who truly love me for who I am and not solely what I can do for them,  people who are both brilliant and great because these things are contagious and I want to be anything but mediocre.

I was not in the least bit worried about the dwindling number of  people in my camp because as life would have it, I have reconnected with some amazing people from my past.  For instance, my friend Oscar, it was as though years had not passed between us.  By the way, you have him to thank for encouraging me to take photographs in the snow.  The boy lives in Mexico and I had to remind him it is nice and warm there, meanwhile I’m dealing with negative digit weather.  I did it nonetheless.

Normally I would wear black leather boots with this coat but I was not about to wear nice shoes out, so these emus that I kick around in were perfect.  I used this antique 19th century chair that was gifted to me as a prop.  You have to understand, I live in the country – antiques are a very large part of this community.  I cannot complain because they add up as assets – how is that for Resolution Smart Money?

I have to commend myself because I know I don’t look cold in the photos but my word, I was freezing and I had no gloves on. Ooooh I almost forgot to mention, I flat ironed my hair and trimmed it.  I despise the blow dry, it just brings up too many painful memories from childhood where I would forcefully have my hair straightened – so the blow dry and I are so not friends.  The flat iron worked beautifully but it is not something I would do anytime soon – my arms hurt. Haha.
