About

Like many people, I began blogging over a decade ago as a creative outlet. I had been laid off from a corporate job that afforded me a year to explore my creativity. At the urging of a graphic designer I had worked with (shame I don’t remember her name), I bought my first DSLR – a Canon rebel t3i which I carried EVERYWHERE and photographed EVERYTHING.

Around this time I began fashion blogging, but was always hesitant to call myself a fashion blogger. I think for me, it always felt empty because it wasn’t accompanied by the thoughtful essays that I enjoy writing. And also, it felt as though it didn’t quite capture who I was creatively – for I am many things. The personal essay is where I thrive. So one day, I don’t remember what I was doing, I wondered why I couldn’t just combine my essays as part of my style diary.  And while I was at it, why not use black and white photography? I’ve dabbled on occasion, but I figured that it would give me an opportunity to really learn more about this genre of photography. In other words, I’ll explore various themes that pertain to personal style, fashion, and life through essays and photographs.

I look forward to sharing more,
